Company Founded
With two paint grinders, Andrew Vogel started Vogel Paint & Wax in 1926.
Initial Expansion
Hired first two employees and second floor added to shop.
First Factory
First factory built on SE side of Orange City. Moved in during the fall of 1947.
New Label
The Vogel Paint label was introduced moving away from Orange Brand.
Fire
Fire destroys the factory. New plant is constructed at 1090 Albany Place SE and opens in 1965.
Expansion Through Acquistion
Purchased Diamond Product Manufacturing in Marshalltown.
New Marketing
Combined the Vogel and Diamond labels creating the brand Diamond Vogel.
Further Expansion
Purchased Old Masters from Darworth Inc.
Continued Expansion
Purchased Van Sickle Paint Manufacturing in Lincoln, NE.
Additional Acquisitions
Purchased Komac Paint Company expanding our footprint in Colorado.
New Logo
Introduced a new corporate logo.
Additional Office Space
New office building addition added to the Orange City factory.
Permacryl is Introduced
Permacryl's low spatter formula changes the market.
Paint-A-Thons Start
Paint-A-Thon volunteer house painting events begin.
Stratum Primer is Introduced
Stratum primer used the same part B as the polyurethane topcoat.
Corporate Support Center Opens
The new Corporate Support Center opens to better serve our customers and employees.
First Commercial Powder Sale
The first commerical sale of powder coating products takes place.
Paint Iowa Beautiful
In partnership with Keep Iowa Beautiful, Paint Iowa Beautiful begins.
Jeff Powell Named President
Jeff Powell is named the first non-family president.
Jeff Powell Named CEO and President
Jeff Powell is named CEO and president of Diamond Vogel.
Aerosol Plant Purchased
The company expands its capabilities with the purchase of an aerosol plant in Menomonee Falls, WI.
Innovation Center Opens
The company opens a new Innovation Center to foster creativity and development.
Seth Hulst Named President
