Diamond Vogel is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for 1st shift. Responsibilities and Duties include:
- Installs, maintains, and repairs machines and equipment in our manufacturing plant.
- Performs a variety of preventative maintenance on parts, pumps, motors, pneumatic systems, and related plant and facility equipment.
- Performs a variety of maintenance requiring knowledge of PLC, pneumatic systems, plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding, metal fabrication and other skilled trades as appropriate or applicable.
- Operates a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery in the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of parts, machines and equipment.
- Completes work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties.
- Assists with inspecting the plant for mechanical and equipment problems, reviews and examines areas, and determines appropriate action(s); assists with contractors and sub-contractors.
- Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear.
- Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.
- Communicates with production, quality control, warehousing, and other departments to maintain a safe and effective environment and to ensure quality products.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and training desired:
Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent education
Preferred:
- Apprenticeship or associate degree is preferred.
On-the-job training will develop more specific technical skills needed to perform the job. Starting pay is based on experience.
This position is for 1st shift, hours are 5:30 am to 3:30 pm. Overtime varies as needed.
