Blender Operator - 1st and 2nd Shift

About the role: The Blender is responsible for safely and accurately producing high-quality paint and coatings by following established formulas, procedures, and production schedules. This role operates mixing equipment, measures and loads materials, monitors batch progress, and performs quality checks to ensure consistency and performance of finished products. The Blender works closely with production teammates and leadership to maintain an efficient workflow and a clean, organized working environment.

What you’ll do:
· Drive Safety and Compliance Excellence.
· Champion Diamond Vogel’s purpose and values and inspire others to uphold company values.
· Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant blending operation.
· Measure, load, and mix raw materials in precise quantities according to formulas and process instructions.
· Set up, operate, and clean mixers, pumps, scales, and related blending equipment.
· Monitor batch progress and perform in-process quality checks, including viscosity, color, and other required properties.
· Communicate any deviations from specifications or process issues promptly to supervisors or quality personnel.
· Follow production schedules, coordinate material needs, and ensure blends are completed accurately and on time.
· Accurately document batch data, material usage, and process notes in logs or production systems.
· Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, or productivity and share improvement ideas with leadership.
· Communicate and collaborate effectively with supervisors, lab technicians, and production teammates.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area in support of safety and housekeeping standards.
· All other duties as assigned.
What skills and experience you’ll need:
· High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training is a plus.
· 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, or a similar production environment preferred.
· Ability to read and follow formulas, batch sheets, and standard operating procedures.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort operating industrial equipment.
· Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
· Basic computer skills; ability to learn ERP or production systems.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
